One of the most popular bhajans, which is commonly associated with Mahatma Gandhi, this was actually written in the 15th century by poet Narsinh Mehta in Gujarati.
This bhajan was adopted by Gandhiji on the roaster of prayers routinely sung at Sabarmati Ashram.
The bhajan speaks about the life, ideals and mentality of a certain follower of Vishnu.
The bhajan's first two lines literally translate to, "One who is a devotee of Vishnu, knows the pain of others".
